One of the great things about being an interior designer, is that I get to imagine rooms dressed up in different ways (this creative side is one of the main reasons I think most designers get into this industry, right?).
I recently put together two design concepts for a client – a beachy concept and a New York concept. I had so much fun doing both….glad I don’t have to make the decisions about which to go for!
I particularly loved the NY bedroom design concept. I love colour and wallpaper and a a few touches of metals which I’ve imbued into this interior design scheme. The luxe feeling of beautiful fabrics and finishes and ensuring everything is well crafted and offers the best comfort-factor possible. I love observing how people live and tailoring their interior design towards maximising functionality and beauty.
So, as they say, the devil is in the detail! Things like tailored stud details on the bedhead, striking artwork and soft blue glass consoles make the design concept considered, elegant and sophisticated.
The deep and bold colours and the gorgeous design of the wallpaper provide a wonderfully rich background and the gold tones and warmth of the orange glass lamp bases and linen chair would give this room real oomph. You can imagine how magical it would be at night with the soft glow of the lamps. Yet it would hold its own against the amazing water view in the day time too!
Gold is having a (nother!) moment and for this design concept, I committed to it big time. I feel if you’ve made a well informed decision, you should be bold. Own it. Shake it. Make it happen!
I love New York style and I hope you like my concept for this beautiful bedroom!
